A new GREENANO journey has begun! This September, we were delighted to welcome 25 excellent students representing 20 nationalities to Nancy as the third cohort of the GREENANO Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Nanomaterials for the Green & Digital Transitions.
Coming from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Syria, Taiwan and Vietnam, the new cohort brings together a truly international mix of backgrounds and perspectives.
Their first week offered a particularly meaningful introduction to the GREENANO community: the new students spent their first two days attending the Master’s thesis defences of Cohort 1, the very first GREENANO cohort. It was a unique opportunity to see where the journey they are just beginning can lead, while celebrating an important academic milestone with their older peers.
The week continued with a dedicated welcome session bringing together the new cohort and professors from all GREENANO consortium partners, before students joined the 5th edition of Academia Stands for Green Deal at Mines Nancy.
Over two days, they took part in discussions connecting academia, industry and students around key challenges of the green and digital transitions, and participated in the Student Challenge alongside students from the new DENSYS Erasmus Mundus cohort — a great first opportunity to collaborate across two Erasmus Mundus communities.
And, of course, no GREENANO welcome week would be complete without our traditional hike in the Vosges! Students, GREENANO professors and Industry Advisory Board partners concluded the week together in a more informal setting.
