Participation Costs and EMJM Grants

GREENANO Consortium has obtained approval from the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) to annually grant full Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) gran to the highest-ranked applicants worldwide.

This prestigious grant, funded by the European Union, provides comprehensive financial support throughout the two-year EMJM programme.

It includes:

• A monthly allowance of EUR 1,400 to cover living, travel, and other installation costs;
• Full exemption from tuition and registration fees at all partner universities;
• Comprehensive health insurance for the full duration of studies;
• Full participation in all academic activities (lab courses, excursions, summer and winter schools, hackathons, etc.);
• Administrative and academic support provided by the GREENANO Consortium.

Duration: up to 24 months, corresponding to the nominal length of the programme.

Eligibility rules:

• Students who have already benefited from an Erasmus+ EMJM scholarship (Master or Doctorate level) are not eligible.
• EMJM grant holders cannot receive other EU funding during the same period.
• While the scholarship offers substantial financial support, students are responsible for other expenses like travel, lodging, and administrative costs. The EMJM Scholarship lasts up to two years, aligning with the nominal duration of the programme and academic obligations of students.

The Partial EMJM Grant is designed for selected students who demonstrate outstanding merit but are not awarded a full EMJM grant.

Partial grant holders are fully exempt from tuition and registration fees and covered by health insurance, allowing them to participate in the programme under the same academic conditions as full scholarship holders. However, they do not receive the monthly allowance for living expenses.

Therefore, these students are expected to secure funding for accommodation, travel, and daily costs through:

• national and regional funding programmes,
• support from their home university, employer, or foundation,
• personal resources.
